Nurture young people's health and happiness
Autumn is often a time for new beginnings and transition for young people.
Gone are the long, leisurely days of the warm summer. Instead, they are faced with the busy hustle of school schedules, with less sunlight and colder weather around the corner.
There are many changes that affect young people at this time of year. Going to a new school or college, or starting a new academic year.
So, at this exciting but challenging time of year, we're shining a spotlight on young people's mental health and wellbeing.
Supporting young people's mental wellbeing
We're an educational charity focused on removing limitations, whether real or perceived, in young people.
Through our funding and work with schools, we help pupils to become strong, resilient and curious. With this in their armour, they are ready for the challenges of life.
At Outward Bound, we naturally support mental health and wellbeing in two ways:
Our classroom is the wilderness: the perfect backdrop for pupils to connect with nature and be active outdoors, which both naturally relieve stress and anxiety.
We push outside the comfort zone: to develop powerful skills like self-confidence and resilience to help cope better with change and stressful situations.
