Roy Hay, the band’s guitarist, spent a summer at our Loch Eil centre in the Scottish Highlands when he was 17. Roy and the band have been keen to put on a special performance for Outward Bound for some time. They are kindly donating their performance and want to raise £500,000 from the evening.

The hotel’s Events Manager also attended one of our courses at our Aberdovey centre in Wales. The hotel have deducted their usual fees to enable us to raise as much as possible. It’s going to a be a very special night indeed.

This event will support thousands of young people to come to Outward Bound. Demand for our work has never been higher - we are hearing from teachers, parents, carers, and guardians throughout the country that teenagers are struggling to cope with the everyday post-pandemic. There are increasing reports of low self-esteem and absenteeism in schools is at an all-time high.

Time at Outward Bound in the great outdoors offers a solution. We help build resilience and determination, as well as increase wellbeing. But we need more funding to accommodate all the requests to participate. This occasion with Culture Club is an incredible opportunity to raise what we need for the start of the academic year.
