Rolf Wellenkamp - Devon on Ashburton, 1967

Pretty sure it was March 1967, was quite cold and I remember particularly our final group trek, where we bivouacked by the Dart. Four of us got together and made one large shelter, only to wake up with several inches of snow insulating us, we got the prize for the most inventive shelter. Was a great four weeks and certainly brought out the best in the lads. I'm third from right, front row.
