Peter Howson - Devon on Ashburton, 1970

A month long course from the middle of January to the middle of February, as part of my Junior Fireman Apprenticeship with Hampshire Fire Brigade. Early morning run followed by cold shower. various treks across the moors in freezing conditions, absailing at Haytor, canoeing on the river Dart, solo expeditions, and much more. Although very cold and extreme I certainly enjoyed it and still have the badges and certificate as a momento. Somewhere I have the photo of the group I was with, but cannot find it at the moment.
