Ken Roberts - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1985
When I did Outward Bound I was quite a quiet sixteen year old, moving from Wales to England. Outward Bound gives you challenges and guidance but you solve the problems yourself.
I was transformed by these challenges. I learned a lot about myself on my course, and it was such a help when I went on to join the Navy that I decided to say thank you to Outward Bound by…
choosing to fundraise for them while fulfilling my lifelong dream of cycling solo around the globe. I hope to raise £45,000 for the Trust to encourage others to realise their potential through outdoor adventure.
Now the Outward Bound Trust is involved with young people much younger than I was - they start at 11. It is exciting to see what young people can achieve and I want them to have the same opportunity that I did.
