John ODonnell - Aberdovey, Wales, 1980
The train Journey from Bircham Newton civl engineering college to Aberdovey took forever. Three weeks of cold October adventure shaped my resilience and my life. Orienteering, climbing, canoeing and survival training. we were rescued in the fog in the middle of Snowdonia, I fell out of a zip wire, I slid a canoe on plywood into a harbour and the tent poles in my ruck prevented damage when I slid into a ravine. And.....I would do it all again....where is David from Barclays, Lena from Birmingham, Glynis Roberts from Wales, Keith the Manchester Met trainee? Strong memories and life shaping times. I will seek out the photos.
