Jake Rowledge - Moray Sea School, Burghead Scotland, 1956
I was at Burghead in 1956 and 1957, I believe in the month of August both times. I would be interested to know if anyone can remember those years. I do recall the Prince Louis had to put into Aberdeen due to heavy weather. There were only 2 not seasick, one was me!
My memories of Burghead besides The Prince Louis (sometimes named the spewie Louis!) are the trek across the Highlands from Invergordon to Ullapool. The fantastic scenery and wildlife. The camaraderie and team work from people of different backgrounds.
There are 3 instructors I recall well, Mr Montgomery, Lt Commander Sothcott and Jimmy Greenwood Ex British Lion and Scottish flank forward.
