I attended the school sponsored by the RAF as a "warm-up" for my basic training as aircrew. Reading my log shows that some of it was hard, some of it was enjoyable and all of it was useful. The experience left me in a good position to accept the challenges posed by a variety of jobs in aviation over the subsequent 40 years; one of which was being chased by German ski troops through a Bavarian forest,in deep snow at night. We made it!
