Frank Collinson - Devon on Ashburton, 1964
In a time when children were able to take a month off school, I and two other boys from Oldham in Lancashire attended an Outward Bound School course in Ashburton, Devon, in November 1964. Mr Hughes was my chief instructor and as members of Raleigh Troop we participated in activities which were, to say the least, challenging. A turning point in my life. I sincerely thank the people who played a part at that special time and they include my Teachers, the people who interviewed me for selection and not least my Outward Bound instructors. Thank you Mr Hughes for your leadership.
