David Joyce - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1960
As a young 20 year old attending the Eskdale moutain
school was a hard but memorable experience.
Several of my apprentice friends were selected to
join the winter course of Jan.1960.
The course included Orienteering,Rock climbing,
Canoeing and First aid,we also did our part in the
construction of an A framed church in the school
grounds.
In June 1960 I was conscripted into the RAF but in the
following 22years never did anything as tough as
those weekks. I have several b and w pictures of the
course.
