Bruce Donnelly - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1961
Joined Wilson Patrol as an RAF pilot cadet, having left Australia to enter flying training in the UK. Ken Ledward was our inspirational leader who succeeded in melding a very disparate group into, as I remember it, a very happy one which worked well together. I developed a profound love of the countryside as a result, quite apart from developing interpersonal skills that would stand me in good stead through life’s journey. I often wonder what became of my patrol colleagues. I have no way of finding out however, more’s the pity. I attach a few course photos which may be of interest.
